Donald Strickland, 57, of Jacksonville, passed away February 5 following a lengthy illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Jacksonville. His parents were the late Tom and Ruby Music Strickland. He was preceded in death by 2-sons: Clyde and Buddy Moore and 4-brothers: Ronnie, Jefferie, Hulon, and Dick Strickland.
He is survived by his wife: Glenda Strickland, 2-Daughters: Tina Duffie and Patsy Roach; 3-Sons: Michael Strickland, Glen Moore, and Whistle Moore; 2-Sisters: Betty Boatright and Linda Hagen; a nephew: Buddy Strickland; 18-Grandchildren and 13-Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 8 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Graveside Funeral services will be held Monday February 9 at 2:00 PM at Dinsmore Cemetery with Rev. David Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Polly, Chris Pike, JT Gordon, Brandon Peters, Lewis Dardner, and Dale Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Koons and Willie Moore.
