Dorothy Jones

Dorothy (Dot) Jones died peacefully May 1, 2022 at her home in Yulee, Florida. Dot died as she lived, surrounded by her loving family, reminiscing on beautiful memories of life and laughter. She was born February 8, 1936 in Warren County, Georgia to the late Neal and Marie Simons. Dot met her husband, Walter Jones in 1954 when they were 16 years old. They married on March 19, 1955 and started growing their family one year later.

Dot was known for her home cooked meals and her love of the outdoors. She loved seeing the world and dragged her loving husband everywhere that she wanted to go. From road trips to cruise ships, Dot and Walter were always together for their greatest of adventures, building their loving marriage. Dot loved having her home full of friends, family and food. Her table always filled with enough wonderful cooking to feed twice as many and no one ever left the Jones’ home hungry.

Dot is survived by her husband of 67 years, Walter Jones; her three children, Ronnie Jones (Donna), Kathy Colson (Jeff) and Beverly Perez-Villarreal (Jose); her grandchildren Craig Jones (Erin), Joshua Colson (Crystal), Ryan Jones (Dresden), Heather Taylor (Johnathan), Amanda Perez-Villarreal (Stas), Jared Jones (Brook), Andrea Sepulveda (Josue), Hunter Colson (Nicole), and Alex Perez-Villarreal; and her great-grandchildren Aliceas, Hayden, Juliette, Beatrice, Evangeline, Palmer, Aria, Charlotte, Damian and Artemis.

Pallbearers include Craig Jones, Joshua Colson, Ryan Jones, Jared Jones, Hunter Colson, and Johnathan Taylor. The family will host a viewing on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Green Pine Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Mercy Hill Church (85520 Miner Rd) on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11 AM.
