Maxine Higginbotham Jones, 76 of Callahan, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born September 10, 1932 to Mack and Mary Ryals Higginbotham in Callahan and was a lifelong resident. She was an active member of Gray Gables Baptist Church, member of the Choir and President of the Ladies Fellowship Class.
Maxine is survived by a daughter: Barbara Ann (John) Dulaney of Mandarin, Florida; One granddaughter: Sheri Ann (John) Krulish of Callahan; One great-granddaughter: Michelle Ann Krulish of Callahan; One sister: Gracie (Gene) Roberts of Cleveland, Tn.; One brother: Buddy Higginbotham of St. Augustine, Florida; Many Nieces, Nephews and other relatives, and a very loving Church family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bryce Robert Jones and a sister: Louise Carter. Pallbearers: Charlie Holmes, Gene Tallent, L.L. Braddock, Jack Carter, Roy Davis, Roland Benoit and Joe Hudson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21 at Nassau Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22 at Gray Gables Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Tuso officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
