11 April 1933 – 29 March 2023 Gerald Eugene “Pop” Gainey, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his Yulee residence. Mr. Gainey was born April 11, 1933, in St. George, GA and moved to Yulee in 1957. He was a member of Hedges Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Commercial Carriers /Ryder Truck Lines where he was a car hauler. After his retirement he worked for a few years at Yulee Elementary as a custodian.
